notes of chiang mai.
i slept for 15 hours straight last night. the only thing i dreamt about was checking my bank balance to be only at 30$. what a nightmare.
the two weeks passed really quickly and i cant recall what we did during the 1st few days, besides checking out the power thai eatery with power thom yam. and eating at the arabian place. and bamboo rafting and elephant riding and trekking and visits to the night bazaar.
work officially started on . i cant even remember when. but i seriously wish i had taken up english teaching or outdoor games. then at least i'd have made friends with the kids there. they're so young and cute. sounds like im a paedophyllic cannibal.
then we met wut, our 1st interviewee who became our friend. he's a really nice guy with flair for photography (real deal here, not our typical teen interested in photography but only on the surface). some of us already got him to help out with out photography module later on. =)
i can't say much about the mass comm girls from the chiang mai university since we didnt hang out much with them.
unlike the vespa geng. they're reallly nice people with wonderful persona. on the final night of our trip, they brought us riding to 7 different places just for the fun of it. i promised ping i'll make my 1st bike a vespa. it didnt end off that nicely since we had 4 mean looking guys scaring the vespa gang away. but im sure they had better intentions. some of the vespa gang even came over to send us off, and as awkward it was (thanks to language differences and not-so-daily-goodbye-for-life-sad-rituals), them being there just .. well, was nice.
time passed like nobody's business and i miss being there already. the fact that living on the other side of the wall was nat and jj. and other friends just a knock away realllllly was great fun. that made the work we were doing become a secondary objective of the trip. i miss the 4 hour bus rides up and down the country. i miss waking up to double slices of bread with cold eggs and cheap groceries.
ok i got to go now, meeting some AIA guy who has been pestering me for the past 2 months to meet up with him. he has some power memory (orjust an organized organizer.)
so just some pictures from the trip.

tired heads on the way back to the guest house. from white water rafting day.

night ride with the vespa gang. end with a bang!

weird shots of them

teaching over at the christian school

29 March, 2006 16:27.actually, if you look at neng (the middle out of 3 vespaians) carefully, he really looks like big-haired shaun. haha.

nah.. neng is cuter. :p
i promised may that i'll give her a call if we ever come back to chiang mai again. and that i'll (=we'll) bring her out (to catch a movie cos she hates shopping) if she comes to singapore. :D
