Adeline Koh encourages stupidity (elitism)!!! (from togoparts.com)
"By Adeline Koh: Its no secret who's better
I hate to be blunt, but JC students are better than polytechnic students, period.
Politically incorrect I may sound, but here are the facts. Entry requirements at JCs are far more stringent than those at polys. As a result, large numbers of students who do not make the cut for JCs are "forced" to opt for a poly education.
Those who enter polys of their own choice remain the exception, rather than the rule. Also, when the Public Service Commission awards scholarships to Singapore's best and brightest, they look to JCs, not polytechnics.
Yes, polys have improved in recent years, but there is still a long way to go before the average poly student matches up to the average JC student.
Sad to say, but this is an open secret."
haha, i wonder if there were responses in the forums. its super flame bait material and it's as good as social suicide. i wonder where does all these comparison put those who have gone through both jc and poly, and those who went private.

01 May, 2006 14:55.Haha that is suicide. What a stupid idiot she is. I'm so tempted to send back a reply.

to sph? haha, i'm surprised they let the article through. unless they're looking for some juicy forum entries. it's one of those arguements that'll never end.
but i do hope that this article is the end of that lady.

When was that article posted?
Because there was one a long long looong time ago which was something similar to this, and my Cognitive facilitator told my class to write back [a flame].
I never did bother to check whether our letters got through or not. D:
Wasted seeeeeh...

april 24th iirc. i dont see why's there a need to argue abt this la.. its gonna revolve ard the same few arguements anyway.
just shallow thinking on the parts of some.
01 May, 2006 22:56.
tsk tsk. how foolish. i've been through both JC n Poly and here's what i realised.
JC-ians -> Most don't know their way around Orchard, ferried around by parents, good grades attributed to pure mugging.
Poly-ians -> bunch of smart asses and alot of smoke machines. Procrastination is the rule, but the distinctions are still produced.
01 May, 2006 23:54.
doesn't really matter what grades you have.
most business-people are of O-lvls.
ok ok... the 'most' are now of retiring age now.
anyway. what matters isn't really how smart you are but how much you've achieved in life...
say... dw company?
right, heikal?
[inside joke]

03 May, 2006 10:12.
Btw, wanted to ask, how did you import your previous posts to your new addres?
03 May, 2006 21:07.
haha my goodness. only dumbasses will provoke such an argument lah.
06 May, 2006 17:00.
fucked up la. I know my way around Orchard.my parents don't own ferries but i agree about the mugging part.
but the distinct difference is that in Jc you get squeezed out so badly you have no life. or worry too much you get wrinkles. i think poly people have the benefit of actually enjoying life while the jc muggers spend their time WORRYING AND STUDYING. but at the end of the day unis would be easier for us because we have experienced a shitty life :)
06 May, 2006 17:02.
pls dont beat me up.
06 May, 2006 18:26.
its impossible to take sides. i'm blasting the writer, not the topic.
and alot of the arguement goes down to "most of the people in jc/poly". generalising the student body based on one specific member can bring about unnecessary arguements totalling to nothing.
the only reason we can enjoy our lives, is because we know how to. but i must say, there are still some in poly who doesn't see that there's more to life than grades and academics and getting that penultimate gold cert.
